En Octubre del año 2000, el grupo Alcazar publicó su album debut "Casino" y entre sus canciones apareció una de sus más exitosas: "Crying at the Discotheque" vendiendo más de 2 millones y medio de copias en todo el mundo.
Independientemente de la letra, la versión de Alcazar dispone de la misma base Disco que la canción "Spacer" del grupo Sheila and B.Devotion del año 1979. La canción fue incluida en el album "King of the World" de 1980 escrito y producido por los integrantes del grupo Chic Bernard Edwards y Nile Rodgers, del cuál consiguieron vender aproximadamente 5 millones de copias en todo el mundo.
